About the Attraction
Galleria Borghese is a museum and art gallery hosted in the 17th Century Villa Borghese Pinciana in Rome. The Villa, belonging originally to the powerful Borghese family, was built to be a venue to display the outstanding family collection of antiquities and artistic items. The collection now includes ancient mosaics, bass-reliefs, sculptures and paintings of different periods. Here visitors have the rare opportunity to admire masterpieces by Antonello da Messina, Perugino, Pinturicchio, Veronese, Raffaello, Tiziano, Correggio, Caravaggio, Rubens, as well as sculptures by Bernini and Canova. The villa is surrounded by beautiful gardens and is located in the Villa Borghese park, one of the largest city parks of Rome. Tours at the Galleria Borghese are scheduled every two hours for 180 people max for each slot. Reservation is required.
