About the Attraction
One of Italy’s most prestigious art museums, the Pinacoteca di Brera is a must-see for art enthusiasts wishing to experience the richness of Italian culture. This gallery boasts an impressive collection of 400 works ranging from the Renaissance to the 20th century, including masterpieces by artists such as Caravaggio, Piero della Francesca, and Tintoretto. The paintings are arranged in chronological order throughout the gallery’s 38 spacious halls, allowing visitors to get close to the canvases and admire every detail. The Pinacoteca di Brera is housed within a historic building that is worth a visit in itself: the Palazzo Brera, an elegant and majestic landmark in Milan’s chic, artsy Brera district. At the end of the museum route on the first floor of the palazzo, many visitors stop for a break and a tasty snack at Caffè Fernanda, a luxury café featuring a 1950s-inspired central bar. Although designed as an extension of the gallery, Caffè Fernanda operates independently. Patrons can enjoy drinks and meals inside the café or on the peaceful courtyard terrace without needing a museum ticket.
