Tivat is approximately 55 miles (89 km) west of Podgorica, Montenegro's capital. It is situated on the Adriatic Sea in a picturesque fjord within the UNESCO-protected Bay of Kotor. Due to its strategic, sheltered location, the Bay was a key military base and naval port for centuries. In recent years, however, the location has undergone a transformation that made Tivat a charming tourist destination, perfect for enjoying the Mediterranean climate and a laid-back, relaxed lifestyle.
