About the Attraction
The Royal Castle in Warsaw is a fine example of a medieval European royal residence. First established in the 14th century and meticulously reconstructed after being destroyed during WWII, the castle now serves as a state museum, featuring historic furniture and artwork. Classical music concerts are held in its breathtaking Great Ballroom. The castle is located on the Castle Square at the northern end of Krakowskie Przedmieście, the most fashionable street in the Old Town. The tour includes the king’s apartments and chambers, the spectacular ceiling painting by Marcello Bacciarelli, and a collection of 18th-century paintings by Bernardo Bellotto, also know as Canaletto.
